Moving from Pixieset to Showpiece

Pixieset stores your original uploads, and you can pull them back out gallery by gallery. Before you export anything, though: if you still have your delivered JPEGs organized on a local drive or backup (most photographers do), importing from there is faster than any export — skip straight to the import steps.

Part 1 — Get your data out of Pixieset

   Enable downloads on the gallery

   Open the gallery in your Pixieset dashboard → gallery Settings → Download → turn on photo download and set the size to High Resolution / Original. (You're temporarily giving yourself the download permission clients would get.)

   Download the whole gallery

   From the gallery's cover page, use Download All (enter your own email if it asks). Pixieset processes the zip and emails you a download link — large galleries arrive split into several zips, which is normal.

   Repeat per gallery, batching sensibly

   There's no single export-everything button, so work through galleries newest-first. If you have years of archives, consider importing only the last 1–2 years now — old galleries can follow later, or live in Showpiece's RAW archive tier.

Good to know: Watch for galleries with download PINs or expired links — the owner-side download above bypasses client-facing limits, but double-check the zip actually contains originals, not web-size copies, before deleting anything.

Part 2 — Bring it into Showpiece

   Organize into one folder

   Unzip everything into a single parent folder on your computer, with one subfolder per gallery (most exports already arrive this way). Subfolder names become your album names, so rename them now if you want tidier titles.

   Run the Showpiece importer

   Log into Showpiece and open showpiece.studio/import. Click the picker, select the PARENT folder, and let it run — each subfolder becomes an album, full-resolution originals upload with automatic retries, and web previews generate as they land. Big libraries take a while (it's your upload speed, not us); keep the tab open and it will tell you if anything needs retrying.

   Bring your client list

   On showpiece.studio/clients, use Import CSV. Name, email, phone, and notes columns are detected automatically and your people land in the CRM, deduplicated.

   Verify, then flip the switch

   Spot-check a few albums (counts and full-res downloads), publish your portfolio, set your services and availability, connect Stripe — and only then cancel the old subscription. Overlap for a billing cycle if you want a safety net; your old account stays untouched by any of this.

If you use Pixieset's Studio Manager, export contacts from its client list (look for an export/CSV option on the Clients page). Otherwise, a spreadsheet with name/email/phone columns works fine for the Showpiece importer.
