Moving from HoneyBook to Showpiece

HoneyBook holds your business paperwork — clients, contracts, invoices — rather than photos. Moving means exporting the people and recreating the templates (better versions of them, honestly).

Part 1 — Get your data out of HoneyBook

   Export your contacts

   In HoneyBook's Contacts area, select your contacts and use the export option to get a CSV. If your plan hides export, HoneyBook support will provide your data on request — it's yours.

   Save signed documents

   Download PDFs of signed contracts and key invoices from their projects — you want your own copies of executed agreements regardless of what platform you use. File them in Drive; they don't need to be imported anywhere.

   Copy your templates

   Open your contract templates, questionnaires, and canned emails, and copy the text out — you'll paste them into Showpiece's editors, where merge fields like {client_name} work the same way. Or start from Showpiece's built-in lawyer-style starters.

Good to know: Before canceling, check for any ACTIVE payment plans mid-schedule — let in-flight client payments finish on HoneyBook (or re-issue the remaining balance as a Showpiece payment-plan invoice) so nothing falls between platforms.

Part 2 — Bring it into Showpiece

   Organize into one folder

   Unzip everything into a single parent folder on your computer, with one subfolder per gallery (most exports already arrive this way). Subfolder names become your album names, so rename them now if you want tidier titles.

   Run the Showpiece importer

   Log into Showpiece and open showpiece.studio/import. Click the picker, select the PARENT folder, and let it run — each subfolder becomes an album, full-resolution originals upload with automatic retries, and web previews generate as they land. Big libraries take a while (it's your upload speed, not us); keep the tab open and it will tell you if anything needs retrying.

   Bring your client list

   On showpiece.studio/clients, use Import CSV. Name, email, phone, and notes columns are detected automatically and your people land in the CRM, deduplicated.

4. 4

   Verify, then flip the switch

   Spot-check a few albums (counts and full-res downloads), publish your portfolio, set your services and availability, connect Stripe — and only then cancel the old subscription. Overlap for a billing cycle if you want a safety net; your old account stays untouched by any of this.

The contacts CSV imports on showpiece.studio/clients — your pipeline stages, notes, and history start accruing from there.
