🚀 Getting started
Showpiece is organized around one idea: albums hold your work, and everything else — galleries, portfolio, delivery — flows out of them. Here's the shortest path from a fresh account to work in front of a client.
1. Create an album and upload
- From the dashboard, click “New album” and name it the way you name shoots (“Rivera Wedding”, “Chen Family — Fall”).
- Open the album and click “Upload” — select photos or video. iPhone HEIC files convert automatically; previews and capture dates are extracted for you.
- Albums nest: use “New folder” inside an album for sub-shoots (Ceremony / Reception / Portraits).
💡 Moving from Pixieset or ShootProof? Skip hand-uploading — go to Import (dashboard → Import) and drop in your unzipped export folder. Each subfolder becomes an album automatically.
2. Organize with stars and tags
- Click any photo to open the lightbox — star your selects and add tags (tags are grouped in categories like Session or Location; a Camera tag is added automatically from EXIF).
- Use “Select” mode in the grid to star, tag, or delete many photos at once.
- The Library page searches across every album — by filename, tag, or star — so a photo is never more than one search away.
3. Share your first gallery
- In the album, click “Share” and choose what the link allows: view only (a proof/preview gallery) or download (full-resolution delivery).
- Optionally add a password, an expiry date, and client proofing (favorites + comments).
- Copy the link and send it — clients never need an account.
4. Put your portfolio online
- Go to Portfolio, claim your handle, and pick your theme (accent color, light or dark, grid or masonry).
- Toggle the albums you want public, choose a cover, and hit Publish.
- You're live at showpiece.studio/@yourhandle — and at yourhandle.showpiece.studio.
💡 On Pro and Studio you can point your own domain (yourname.com) at the portfolio — see the Portfolio & brand guide.
