Copyright & DMCA policy

Showpiece hosts photographs and video uploaded by our users, who are responsible for the content they upload and represent that they hold the necessary rights to it. We respect the intellectual-property rights of others and respond to notices of alleged infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Filing an infringement notice

If you believe content hosted on Showpiece infringes your copyright, send a notice containing all of the following to support@showpiece.studio with the subject line "DMCA notice":

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed (or a representative list if there are several).
  2. The URL(s) on showpiece.studio (or a connected custom domain) where the allegedly infringing material appears — gallery links, portfolio pages, etc.
  3. Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

On receipt of a complete notice we will remove or disable access to the identified material promptly and notify the user who uploaded it. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing:

  1. Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
  2. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or any judicial district in which Showpiece may be found, if outside the United States), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
  4. Your physical or electronic signature.

Unless the original complainant informs us they have filed a court action within 10–14 business days, we may restore the removed material.

Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion.
